Deft Machine

A unique hybrid of dynamic platforming gameplay and a 2D physics-based machine simulator.

Take the wheel of a quirky, compact-cabin off-road vehicle. This machine features a triple-axle motor drive, a vertical spring mechanism, a small turbojet engine, and a heavy rotating mace as its primary weapon. It also includes a secured trunk with several slots for storing weapons and supplies.

Master the nimble machine to battle enemy creatures, smash obstacles, maintain balance on moving platforms, and collect guns and items.

Key Game Features and Mechanics:

✔ All game object interactions are driven by a realistic 2D physics engine.

✔ Nearly every dynamic object can be destroyed (broken platforms are regenerated).

✔ Vehicle "health" decreases when hit, falling from high places, or being crushed between objects.

✔ Nearly every action uses fuel—except accessing the trunk.

✔ Wheel torque, jump force, turbo thrust, and gunfire vary over time.

✔ Players can gain temporary buffs or debuffs during gameplay.

✔ Restore health, fuel, and time or switch weapons on the go.

✔ Skill is essential for controlling the vehicle and staying on moving platforms.

✔ Objects stuck in the wheels? Use the mace—this “controlled bug” adds to the fun.

Two game modes are available:

1. CAMPAIGN

You are sent to a distant, unnamed planet to test the sturdiness of your motor vehicle and your driving skills. Smash boxes, find keys, collect them to unlock the exit door, then locate and enter the door to finish the level and advance. Use the machine’s agility and your wits to succeed.

Recommended for experienced players.

Campaign Features and Mechanics:

✔ Relies heavily on in-game gold transactions.

✔ Pay gold to enter a level—and earn it back as a reward for winning.

✔ Purchase weapons and supplies (health, fuel, time, boosts) from the store before beginning a level.

✔ Sell extra trunk weapons and items through the store.

✔ Earn gold in the "Catch Gold" mini-game.

✔ If you run out of gold with no way to earn more, you must start a NEW campaign.

✔ Includes random elements—a bit of luck is needed.

✔ Game progress saves automatically (no manual save/load).

(P.S. This campaign is designed as a true challenge—much like classic "old school games.")

2. SANDBOX

Use the on-screen factory button to spawn nearly any game object almost anywhere on the map. Build structures, add enemies, grab weapons, and start battles—it’s all up to you. Experiment and enjoy!

Sandbox Features and Mechanics:

✔ Open the factory, choose an object, then tap where you want it to appear.

✔ Enable "OverSpawn" in Options to spawn objects even inside solid ground (may cause minor physics issues in rare cases).

✔ Use the color picker in the factory to assign factions to enemies.

✔ Pan and zoom the camera freely.

✔ Toggle the "F" button to enable/disable camera follow mode.

✔ Toggle the "P" button off to disable factory controls.

✔ Customize the factory window: move, resize, or adjust opacity.

Deft Machine is a uniquely challenging 2D platformer with unconventional mechanics—blended with solid physics simulation—that offers a fresh gaming experience.
