How to play Çanak Okey.
This offline Okey game typically involves 4 players. In Çanak Okey, you get a cue stick to help organize your tiles.
Çanak Okey tiles come in four colors: Red, Black, Yellow, and Blue.
Tiles are numbered from 1 to 13.
There are also two false Okey tiles in the game.
A total of 106 tiles are used in Çanak Okey.
At the beginning, all tiles are shuffled and automatically dealt. The player next to the dealer receives 15 tiles; the others get 14.
Each player arranges their tiles using the cue stick, grouping them into sets or pairs.
Undealt tiles remain in the center of the table.
The tile with its number revealed in the middle is the indicator tile.
The Okey tile is the one that matches the color and number of the indicator tile.
In Çanak Okey, the Okey tile can substitute for any other tile.
If you finish by discarding the Okey tile, your points are doubled.
Standard tile arrangement in Çanak Okey:
Players group their tiles into sets of at least three. Two types of valid sets are possible.
The first is a sequence of the same color in consecutive numbers.
The second is a group of the same number in different colors.
Pair arrangement in Çanak Okey:
Players can also arrange all tiles in pairs. When a player forms seven pairs and discards their last tile, the game ends.
Indicator rule in Çanak Okey:
At the start of a new game, the player whose turn it is must reveal if they hold the indicator tile. If they show it’s not the Okey color, 2 points are deducted from others.
Finishing the game in Çanak Okey:
A normal finish (non-Okey discard) deducts 2 points from other players; an Okey finish deducts 4 points.
Finishing with seven pairs deducts 4 points from all opponents.
A color finish—where all tiles are the same color and run from 1 to 13—reduces all other players’ scores to zero, ending the game.
If all tiles are the same color but not in sequence, 8 points are deducted from others.
