Call Break uses a standard 52-card deck. Cards are ranked from high to low: A-K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2. In Call Break, Spades are permanently designated as trumps, meaning any Spade card beats a card from another suit. Dealing and gameplay proceed counter-clockwise. In this game, the term "hand" refers to a trick, and "Call" stands for a bid.
Each player receives 13 cards, and the game starts with everyone declaring the number of hands they expect to win.
Players then follow preset rules and aim to secure at least as many hands as they called.
Otherwise, the called number is deducted from their score. The game consists of 5 rounds, and the player with the highest total points after the final round wins.
