- GOMOKU Freestyle: The first player to achieve an unbroken line of five or more stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins.
- CARO (Blocked Rule - Gomoku+): Victory requires an unbroken line of five stones, but the line cannot be blocked on both ends. Lines like XOOOOOX and OXXXXXO are not winning lines.
- GOMOKU Standard: The first player to create an unbroken line of five stones horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins. Overlines (six or more stones) do not constitute a win.
- RENJU: To address the inherent first-player advantage in Gomoku, Renju incorporates additional rules restricting Black (the first player):
- No Double Three: Black cannot create two separate three-stone lines.
- No Double Four: Black cannot create two separate four-stone lines.
- No Overline: Black cannot create a line of six or more stones.
