High-Quality Implementation of the Most Popular Card Game Durak (Fool)
The card game "Durak" ("Fool", "Dumb") is renowned as one of the most popular and widespread card games in the former Soviet Union. Our high-quality implementation allows you to enjoy "Durak" ("Fool") offline, without an internet connection, using a deck of 24, 36, or 52 cards.
"Durak" ("Fool") comes in two primary variants: "Fool Flip" (Durak Podkidnoy) and "Fool Transferable" (Durak Perevodnoy). While the rules share some similarities, each variant has its unique twists.
Objective of the Game: The aim is to shed all your cards as quickly as possible. The first player to do so emerges as the winner, leaving the last player holding cards as the "fool" (durak).
Fool Flip (Durak Podkidnoy): This classic version allows for a dynamic gameplay experience. If the attacker has no cards to play against the defender, the next player to the defender's left takes over, initially allowed to throw only one card. Once it's beaten, the right to throw returns to the original attacker. If the player to the left cannot throw, the opportunity passes clockwise until someone can play. This variant is thus known as "Flip Fool" (Durak Podkidnoy) or "Durak Classic."
Transferable Fool (Durak Perevodnoy): Adding an extra layer of excitement, this variant permits the defending player, starting from the second move, to "transfer" a card thrown at them by playing a card of the same rank but a different suit. The player next in the clockwise direction then becomes the new defender, who can also "transfer" the card, creating a chain reaction. Hence, it's called "Transferable Fool" (Durak Perevodnoy).
