The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) introduces the exciting KCNK Little Bee Game, a fun and educational app designed for kids aged 4 to 9. Sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU), this app brings the thrill of the Primary & Prep school spelling Bee competition right to your fingertips. With over 150 words to master, the KCNK Little Bee Game offers three engaging modes: Learning Mode 1, Learning Mode 2, and Competition Mode, all playable offline.
In the Settings, students can personalize their experience by entering their name, age, parish, and school. Each mode features 10 levels, with words increasing in difficulty as you progress. Every level includes at least 15 words, ensuring a comprehensive learning journey.
Learning Mode 1:
In this mode, students learn to spell by tapping letters in sequence from left to right. The app vocalizes each letter, aiding pronunciation and memorization. If a mistake is made, it can be easily corrected by tapping the error. Students can replay the word by tapping the little bee icon. To advance, each word must be spelled correctly, and all words must be mastered to complete a level. Levels can be revisited at any time, but earlier levels must be completed before moving to later ones.
Learning Mode 2:
Here, students face jumbled letters and must correctly spell the prompted word. Mistakes can be undone, and the word can be replayed via the little bee icon. Like Learning Mode 1, progression requires correct spelling of each word and completion of all words in a level. Levels can be repeated, and earlier levels must be finished before advancing.
Competition Mode:
This mode adds an extra challenge with jumbled letters and additional distracting letters. Students are timed as they spell 10 random words from each level’s pool. The goal is to complete levels swiftly, with times tracked on a leaderboard. Students can reset the game in Settings and should wait for each letter to be fully called before selecting the next. Parents and students can screenshot the leaderboard to share with teachers.
