Local whispers speak of a woman in a white dress, carrying a Petromax lamp, seen walking alone towards the guesthouse just before the inferno. However, this account is disputed by Nurul, a former employee. Nurul suggests the fire was an act of revenge by a dishonorably dismissed staff member, but declines to reveal the individual's identity.
