007 First Light Unveiled at PlayStation State of Play June 2025
Coming in 2026

007: First Light made its official debut at the June 2025 PlayStation State of Play, targeting a 2026 release. Development is being led by IO Interactive, the award-winning creators of the Hitman franchise and the forthcoming adventure shooter Mindseye.
This third-person action-adventure game reimagines James Bond’s origin as a standalone story. Engage in dynamic missions across breathtaking worldwide settings, drive classic vehicles, and tackle objectives with an array of tactical and interactive gameplay systems.
Launching on PlayStation 5, 007: First Light will also leverage the PlayStation 5 Pro’s power, utilizing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution for improved performance.
A Bond Origin Story in Focus
007: First Light presents an entirely original take on Bond’s beginnings, casting players as a young James Bond at the start of his career. This fresh interpretation of the legendary spy centers on his early development, long before he became the polished, world-renowned agent.
This is the franchise’s youngest-ever depiction of Bond. At 26, he’s still untamed, driven by impulse, and learning to operate in the morally uncertain world of espionage. He isn’t yet the iconic figure synonymous with martinis and Aston Martins, but a man discovering when to strike, deceive, or fade into the shadows.
Bond’s story opens with him serving as a Royal Navy air crewman. Following a bold act of heroism, he is recruited into MI6's rigorous training program—a journey that will forge him into the legendary operative known and feared around the world. In partnership with Amazon MGM Studios, the narrative is entirely self-contained, giving players a new way to experience the Bond universe.

The game takes players on a global adventure through snow-capped mountains, tropical shores, and other exotic locales. Familiar characters such as M, Q, and Moneypenny appear alongside new allies like Greenway, Bond’s mentor.
Gameplay delivers a compelling blend of stealth, intense firefights, adrenaline-fueled driving sequences, and sophisticated spy gadgets—all powered by IO Interactive's cutting-edge Glacier engine.
