If you've been keeping up with us since April of last year, you might recall our coverage of the quirky strategy RPG, Isekai Dispatcher. Now, the creative minds behind that retro-inspired 'trapped-in-another-world' game are branching out with a more serene and adorable offering: Ash & Snow, a new match-three game featuring charming kittens, set to hit mobile devices on May 15th.
Ash & Snow delivers the classic match-three experience you're familiar with. You'll find yourself aligning colored blocks, striving to clear as many as you can to boost your score. Along the way, you'll encounter power-ups that help you clear the board more efficiently and rack up more points.
What sets Ash & Snow apart are its titular mascots, Ash and Snow. These lovable kittens are your constant companions as you navigate the puzzles, appearing both on the main screen and in the top left corner, cheering you on as you play.
Given the developers' track record, there's no doubt that Ash & Snow will be a well-crafted game. However, in a market saturated with match-three puzzlers that often boast unique twists, the presence of two kittens might seem somewhat quaint. Yet, it's undeniable that featuring cats (and recently capybaras) as characters tends to boost game sales, particularly in the mobile gaming world.
