After completing the main quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you can continue to explore the expansive open world of Feudal Japan. The game doesn't restrict access to side content post-main quest, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the rich environment and complete any remaining tasks.
Additionally, the Animus will introduce new weekly challenges post-launch, ensuring that even after achieving 100% completion, there's always something new to tackle.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained
Even after the credits roll, your journey in Assassin’s Creed Shadows might not be over. In my playthrough, the credits appeared after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, I hadn't yet unlocked the trophy for finishing Act 3 or The Epilogue.
To experience the true ending and epilogue, you must complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. After that, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko to unlock the complete ending and associated achievements.
At the endgame, you can also earn exclusive gear themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke. These armor sets come with unique perks that enhance each protagonist’s playstyle and are a treat for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series.
Players can continue to level up and progress well beyond the credits, reaching the game’s maximum level cap.
What’s Next For Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
While the main story of Assassin’s Creed Shadows concludes at launch, the game will continue to evolve. New content will be added through the Animus, and the in-game store will likely see updates with new items.
Moreover, a story expansion titled The Claws of Awaji is set to release later in 2025. This DLC will introduce over 10 hours of new content and take players to the Island of Awaji.
