Atakhan, known as the 'Bringer of Ruin', is a thrilling addition to the League of Legends roster of Epic Monsters. Debuting in Season 1 of 2025 during the Noxus Invasion, Atakhan introduces a dynamic element to the game where his spawn location and form are influenced by in-game events. This innovation promises to make each match even more unique, compelling teams to adapt their strategies on the fly.
When & Where Will Atakhan Spawn In League Of Legends?
Atakhan's Spawn Time
Atakhan consistently emerges at the 20-minute mark, shifting Baron Nashor's spawn to the 25-minute mark. This change adds a new layer of strategic planning for teams.
Atakhan's Pit Location
The pit where Atakhan is battled forms in the river at the 14-minute mark. Its location—either near the Top Lane or Bot Lane—depends on where the map has seen more action in terms of damage and kills. This gives teams a crucial 6-minute window to prepare. The pit features two permanent small walls, designed to intensify the battles for Atakhan.
Which Form Of Atakhan Will Spawn & Why?
The type of Atakhan that appears is also influenced by early game dynamics. In games with less champion damage and fewer kills, the Voracious Atakhan will spawn. Conversely, in high-action games, the Ruinous Atakhan will emerge. Each form not only alters Atakhan's appearance but also the type of buff it provides.
Voracious Atakhan's Buff In League Of Legends
Voracious Atakhan appears in games with lower action levels, encouraging the victorious team to engage more aggressively. The buffs include:
- An extra 40g for each team member upon scoring a champion takedown, including assists, lasting for the entire game.
- A one-time death mitigation for 150 seconds, turning a potential death into a 2-second stasis followed by a 3.5-second return to base. The would-be killer receives 100g and 1 Blood Petal for their team.
Ruinous Atakhan's Buff In League Of Legends
In contrast, Ruinous Atakhan emerges in high-action games, granting the slaying team a scaling buff:
- A 25% increase in rewards from all Epic Monsters for the remainder of the game, impacting past and future kills.
- Each team member gains 6 Blood Petals.
- 6 Large and 6 small Blood Rose Plants sprout near his pit, offering teams strategic choices for further stat boosts.
What Are Blood Roses & Petals In League Of Legends
Blood Roses are a new type of plant on the Rift, spawning near champion deaths and Atakhan's Pit, especially after Ruinous Atakhan's defeat. Interacting with these plants grants champions permanent Blood Petals, which provide:
- 25 XP, with potential increases up to 100% for players with lower K/D/A ratios.
- 1 Adaptive Force, which can be either Attack Damage (AD) or Ability Power (AP).
These plants come in two sizes:
- Small Blood Roses yield 1 Blood Petal.
- Large Blood Roses yield 3 Blood Petals.
