Long awaited by players across PC and consoles, crossplay is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with Patch 8! While a firm release date isn't set, a Patch 8 Stress Test in January 2025 will give select players early access to this and other new features.
When is Cross-Play Arriving?
Patch 8, including crossplay functionality, doesn't have an official release date. However, a stress test in January 2025 will allow a limited number of players to experience it early. This test will help Larian Studios identify and fix bugs before the wider release.
How to Join the Patch 8 Stress Test
Want to be among the first to try Baldur's Gate 3's crossplay? Sign up for the Patch 8 Stress Test! It's open to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players.
Simply complete Larian's Stress Test Registration form. You'll need a Larian account – sign in or create one before starting the short registration survey. Provide basic information, including your gaming platform.
Keep in mind, registration doesn't guarantee selection. Those chosen will receive an email with instructions. Selected testers can provide feedback through forms and Discord.
The Stress Test will also evaluate the impact of Patch 8 on mods. Mod users should consider signing up to help ensure compatibility.
Important: To play crossplay with friends, everyone in your group must register and be selected for the stress test. Otherwise, you'll all need to wait for the full release in 2025.
Baldur's Gate 3's popularity continues to grow. The addition of crossplay promises to further strengthen its community and bring even more players together to explore Faerûn.
