Bandai Namco has officially announced that their fortress strategy action RPG, *Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage*, is shutting down. This news might not come as a shock to many players, as it marks yet another closure in Bandai Namco's line of gacha games. Fans of the Naruto series will remember the similar fate of *Naruto Blazing*, which struggled with PvP issues before its eventual shutdown.
When Is Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage Shutting Down?
The journey of *Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage*, which launched in 2017, is coming to an end on December 9th, 2024. Players can continue enjoying the game until that date. Before the shutdown, the game has planned a series of final events. The Village Leader World Championship will run from October 8th to October 18th, followed by the All-Out Mission from October 18th to November 1st. The farewell event, the 'Thanks For Everything' campaign, will take place from November 1st to December 1st. Throughout these events, players can still collect Ninja Cards, participate in summoning events, and use their in-game items until the very end. Those with Gold Coins should consider spending them before the game's closure.
What Went Wrong?
*Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage* initially enjoyed a robust start, allowing players to build and defend their own village with their favorite Naruto characters. However, the game's trajectory took a downturn about midway through its lifespan. The introduction of Minato marked the beginning of a noticeable power creep, which was poorly received by the community. Moreover, the game increasingly embraced pay-to-win mechanics, reduced rewards for free-to-play users, and saw a decline in multiplayer engagement. These factors led many to anticipate the game's eventual shutdown. If you're curious about experiencing it before it closes, *Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage* is still available on the Google Play Store.
