Weaknesses & Resistances:
This chicken-like behemoth, clearly inspired by the Cockatrice, prefers to breathe fire rather than petrify its foes. While most weapons are effective against this mid-sized monster, its attacks often affect a wide area. Consider a weapon with range if you prefer a safer distance. Its weakness is Water. It has no notable resistances, and is immune to Sonic Bombs.
Dangerous Attacks to Watch Out For:
While its tail sweeps and strikes can inflict damage, the most potent attack is its tail slam. It rears its tail high before slamming it down—sidestep or block to avoid this heavy hitter. However, its fiery attacks are the real threat. These not only deal direct damage but also inflict burning, steadily draining your health and potentially setting the ground ablaze.
These fire attacks are tricky to predict. It might rear its head and roar, then fling a flame from its tail. Alternatively, it can perform a full fiery sweep after a roar, igniting everything around it. It can even combine this sweep with a charge attack, running towards you before unleashing a fiery turn. If you're using a ranged weapon, back away during this attack to avoid damage.

Capturing Quematrice:
To capture this beast, you'll need the right tools: Shock Trap, Pitfall Trap, and at least two Tranq Bombs. While one trap is technically sufficient, a backup is crucial in case it flees or another monster interferes.
Once the Quematrice is significantly weakened (limp, or the skull icon on the mini-map disappears), lay a trap. Ideally, wait until it moves to a new area after limping away for easier capture. Lure it into the trap, toss two Tranq Bombs, and you've successfully captured this fiery foe!
