Black Ops 6 has exciting news for fans just days after its launch, announcing the addition of two beloved classics to the game, along with details on a recent update that addressed player-reported issues.
Black Ops 6 Announces New Mode, Map, And Regular Post-Launch Updates
Infection and Nuketown Roll Out This Week
"Launch was only the beginning. Tomorrow, the Infected are coming to play. Nuketown joins the party on Friday. LFG," announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 developer Treyarch on Twitter (X). This confirms the addition of the fan-favorite multiplayer mode and iconic map to Black Ops 6 this week. Following its launch last week, the game will introduce the CoD staple "Infected" party mode on Friday. In Infected, players must fend off and survive against player-controlled zombies.
A few days later, on November 1, Nuketown will make its return. This fan-favorite map, which debuted in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010), is inspired by 1950s US nuclear test sites. Before Black Ops 6's release, Activision promised regular post-launch additions of new modes. Launched on October 25, Black Ops 6 initially included 11 standard multiplayer modes, four alternate modes without Scorestreaks, and a Hardcore mode with reduced player health.
Black Ops 6 Update Fixes Several Post-Launch Issues, More Patches Expected Soon

Over the weekend, Black Ops 6 released its first update, addressing issues in both multiplayer and Zombies modes that surfaced after last week's launch. XP and weapon XP rates have been boosted in Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight. "Our team is closely monitoring XP rates for all modes to ensure players are progressing as expected wherever they play," stated Activision. Here are some of the resolved issues:
⚫︎ Global:
・Loadouts. The last-selected loadout will now be properly highlighted when opening the Loadouts menu in-game.
・Operators. Fixed an issue with Bailey’s animation in the Operators menu.
・Settings. The ‘Mute Licensed Music’ setting now functions correctly.
⚫︎ Maps:
・Babylon. Closed an exploit allowing players to get outside the intended playspace on Babylon.
・Lowtown. Closed an exploit allowing players to get outside the intended playspace on Lowtown.
・Red Card. Closed an exploit allowing players to get outside the intended playspace on Red Card and improved stability.
・General. Addressed an issue with stability when using in-game interactions.
⚫︎ Multiplayer:
・Matchmaking. Fixed an issue that occasionally prevented matches from quickly finding a replacement player when another player quit.
・Private Matches. Private Match will no longer forfeit if one team has zero players.
・Scorestreaks. Addressed an issue where the incoming missile sound from the Dreadnought would continuously play.

Meanwhile, unresolved issues, such as dying upon loadout selection in Search & Destroy, are slated for fixes, according to developers Treyarch and Raven Software. Despite these post-launch issues, Black Ops 6 stands out as one of the best Call of Duty games in recent years, boasting a fun and memorable Campaign.
