Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration
Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog post detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.
The highlight is The Tomb, a desert-themed map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This marks another significant addition to the Zombies universe, following Season 1's Citadelle des Morts.

Following the events of Citadelle des Morts, the story continues as Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya investigate a site based on Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, aiming to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The Tomb, situated on ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s, hinting at secrets yet to be uncovered.
While details are scarce, Treyarch hints at connections to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe. Gameplay-wise, The Tomb promises a similar experience to Liberty Falls, featuring compact play areas designed for high replayability and numerous Easter eggs.
Season 2 also introduces a reimagined Wonder Weapon, drawing inspiration from previous iterations, and the return of a classic SMG. Further details on these additions are yet to be revealed.
Significant quality-of-life improvements are also on the horizon, including community-requested features such as tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer modes. A co-op pause option for Zombies, allowing the party leader to pause mid-game, is also included. Season 2 will also separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer, and allow players to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadouts if disconnected.
Black Ops 6 players can enjoy a double GobbleGum earn rate and double player, weapon, and battle pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st as part of the 115 Day celebration. Treyarch also shared statistics regarding the Directed Mode, revealing over 480 million hours played. The team notes that the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled since its launch, indicating its success in onboarding new players.
The upcoming release of The Tomb will also bring attention to the recent voice actor recasting of some beloved Zombies characters, a consequence of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Activision acknowledged this change last month.
