The open-world vampire RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, developed by ex-CDPR developers at Rebel Wolves, aims for The Witcher 3's level of quality, albeit in a more focused package. Discover more about this upcoming title and the director's vision.
The Blood of Dawnwalker: Aiming for AAA Quality
30-40 Hour Main Campaign

In an interview with GamesRadar, creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz revealed that despite being a smaller studio launching its debut game, Rebel Wolves strives for the same stellar quality as CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3.
When asked about the game's classification—AA or AAA—Tomaszkiewicz stated, "In terms of quality, we definitely look at AAA, because this is where we are coming from, the quality level of The Witcher 3."
While Rebel Wolves is a new studio, its team comprises experienced developers from CD Projekt Red, having worked on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Mateusz and his brother Konrad founded the studio to pursue greater creative freedom than offered by larger AAA studios.

Tomaszkiewicz clarified, "Our game isn't as massive in terms of content and playtime—we're a smaller studio, and this is our first project. But we aim for robust quality, even if it's a shorter experience." He anticipates a 30-40 hour campaign, acknowledging it's not the length of a typical AAA title. He adds, "If size is the sole measure, then yes, it's not Witcher 3-sized. But I question whether size is the ultimate measure. AAA games like Call of Duty don't have 100+ hour campaigns, and I doubt anyone would call them AA or indie."
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a narrative-driven, open-world dark fantasy RPG set in Vale Sangora. Players assume the role of Coen, a young peasant who gains vampiric powers after encountering a powerful vampire. His mission: save his ailing sister, navigating the dangers and challenges of this dark world.
While a release date remains unannounced, the game is slated for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a gameplay reveal expected in Summer 2025.
