Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, disappointing many players.
While a release date remains unannounced, the feature's development was confirmed via a recent Twitter response from Treyarch. The upcoming Season 2 update, slated for later this month, hints at a potential near-term release.
A recent January 9th patch addressed various bug fixes for Black Ops 6's multiplayer and zombies modes. Significant changes to the Zombies mode reversed controversial alterations from an earlier January 3rd update, addressing community feedback regarding round timing and zombie spawns in Directed Mode.
Challenge Tracking: A Game Changer
The addition of challenge tracking will significantly improve the player experience, particularly for those pursuing Mastery camos. Mirroring the Modern Warfare 3 implementation, players will likely see a live tracker within the in-game UI, displaying progress towards selected challenges without requiring match completion.
Further Developments
Treyarch also confirmed the development of separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, addressing player requests for greater customization. This feature is also "in the works."
