Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has surpassed one million copies sold, according to publisher Kepler Interactive.
The debut RPG from Sandfall Interactive initially moved 500,000 units in its first 24 hours and has now doubled that impressive figure.
"Three days post-launch, we've reached one million sales. Thank you for embracing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," the developer shared on social media.
The achievements don't stop there. SteamDB reports the game reached a peak of 121,422 concurrent Steam players - surpassing records set by Atlus RPGs, including Metaphor: ReFantazio's October 2024 peak of 85,961 players.
While these numbers reflect Steam performance only, the game's availability on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate suggests actual player engagement is considerably higher, cementing its current popularity.
IGN's 9/10 review hailed it as a "modern RPG classic." This turn-based adventure from new studio Sandfall Interactive draws from genre greats, following Expeditioners in a dystopian world where the Paintress - a colossal entity - annually erases those exceeding a certain age. Players join the mission to stop this cycle.
