Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Post-Launch Updates
Bug Fixes and Localization Improvements
On April 30, Sandfall Interactive released Hotfix 1.2.2 for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as announced in a Steam blog post. This update addresses several critical issues, including a soft-lock that could occur when stunning the Grown Bourgeon and other soft-lock problems on the world map. Additionally, the update enhances the game's localization with improvements in French, German, and Chinese languages.
The developers at Sandfall Interactive are committed to ongoing improvements and have promised more updates soon. While these fixes are crucial, the community is also buzzing with excitement about the potential for future content, such as a DLC. Earlier this week, Expedition 33’s lead writer engaged with fans on Instagram, hinting at the possibility of a DLC due to the game's success, although no official confirmation has been given yet.
Expedition 33 Director Recommends Another RPG Which Was Released on the Same Day
In a show of camaraderie within the RPG community, Sandfall Games' Creative Director Guillaume Broche took to Expedition 33’s Twitter (X) on April 30 to recommend another RPG released on the same day: The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Broche praised the game, saying, "After your Expedition, check out The Hundred Line, another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."
This recommendation came in response to The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka, who had earlier tweeted his support for Expedition 33 on April 28, stating, "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" Kodaka continued to praise Expedition 33 in subsequent tweets, encouraging fans to experience both RPGs.
Despite the crowded release week with other RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, The Hundred Line has received "Very Positive" reviews on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 stands out as the highest-rated game of 2025, achieving over 1 million sales in just three days.
