If there's anything you can say about mobile developer AppSir, it's that whatever they release always merits a look. From our glowing review of Spooky Pixel Hero to their latest hit, Climb Knight, their games consistently deliver distinct indie fun that resonates with players.
"But," you might be thinking, "Didn't you already cover Climb Knight?" Indeed, we did, and we gave it a fairly positive review. However, the team at AppSir was genuinely taken aback by the warm reception Climb Knight received. In celebration, they've announced a major update set for February 25th, and it's coming completely free!
What can you expect from this update? For starters, three new one-bit minigames and an intriguing advisor character inspired by Apple Newton shareware. Given AppSir's track record with their spooky releases, there's likely more to this advisor and the new gameplay than meets the eye.

AppSir exemplifies how a dedicated indie developer can break the mold and achieve popularity on mobile platforms. While I wouldn't label them as the "New Blood" of smartphones, their work shares similarities with the eerie, retro aesthetic seen in the excellent Faith trilogy.
