Revue Starlight Re:LIVE's End of Service (EOS) Announcement: A Farewell to the Stage
The curtain is falling on Revue Starlight Re:LIVE. Konami has officially announced the game's server shutdown on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC. After nearly six years on Android, this mobile game based on the popular anime will be no more.
Reasons Behind the EOS Announcement
While initially a promising extension of the Revue Starlight anime, Re:LIVE's performance has faltered over the past five and a half years. Players noticed declining quality, including repetitive events, reused assets, and an excessive number of costly battle passes. Narrative inconsistencies, such as the abrupt shift in storyline, also contributed to player dissatisfaction. The shutdown affects the global player base, including Japan.
Positive Aspects of the Game
Despite its shortcomings, Re:LIVE boasted a strong soundtrack featuring music from the anime and impressive 3D graphics with Live2D animations.
A Final Curtain Call?
Although the game's lifespan is nearing its end, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. Konami is launching several farewell campaigns in August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free pulls daily and a two-month birthday celebration featuring "New Stage Girl Gacha" events. Download the game from the Google Play Store to experience these final events.
