Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting roadmap for Crusader Kings III with Chapter IV set to roll out throughout 2025, focusing on expanding the game's reach into Asia with new mechanics and regions to explore.
The chapter kicks off with the recently released cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This small but stylish pack offers players the chance to further personalize their rulers with six new crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, enhancing the visual customization options.
On April 28, players can dive into the first major expansion, Khans of the Steppe, where they can take command of the Mongols. As the Great Khan, you'll lead a nomadic horde, conquer new lands, and establish dominance over neighboring territories, bringing a fresh dynamic to the gameplay.
Next up, in Q3 (July–September), the Coronations DLC introduces a ceremonial mechanic. Players can legitimize their reign through grand coronation events that involve hosting extravagant festivities, making solemn vows, and choosing the path of their kingdom. This expansion also adds new advisor and vassal events, enriching the political interactions within the game.
The chapter will culminate with the release of the massive expansion, All Under Heaven, later in the year. This expansion will feature a comprehensive East Asian map, including detailed depictions of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands. Players will have vast new territories to explore and conquer, significantly broadening the scope of the game.
In between these major DLC releases, Paradox Interactive plans to roll out patches to refine game systems and enhance AI behavior. The developers are keen on incorporating player feedback, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26, to ensure future updates meet the community's expectations.
