2025 is shaping up to be a monumental year for DC's Batman. Chip Zdarsky's run concludes with Batman #157, making way for Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee's "Hush 2" in March. Following "Hush 2," Batman will be relaunched with a new #1 issue, a new writer, and a striking new costume.
As announced at the ComicsPro retailer event, Matt Fraction (known for Uncanny X-Men and The Invincible Iron Man) will helm the new Batman volume. Jorge Jimenez remains as artist, collaborating with Fraction on a redesigned costume and Batmobile. The classic black and gray suit makes way for a vintage-inspired blue and gray design. See the new Batsuit below:

"Batman was the first comic I ever read," Fraction shared. "Jorge and I are taking a very superhero-centric approach. We have a new Batmobile, a new costume, new characters, and plenty of familiar faces—both good and bad. We aim to celebrate everything that makes Batman the ultimate comic book icon."
Batman #1 arrives in September 2025.
DC also unveiled plans for its Superman line at ComicsPro, continuing its "Summer of Superman" initiative. Supergirl is getting a new series and costume (designed by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau), written and drawn by Sophie Campbell (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). This new series brings Kara back to Midvale.
"My background is primarily in self-written and illustrated graphic novels, so working on Supergirl feels like a return to my roots," Campbell explained. "My inspiration for Kara Zor-El comes from the 70s stories, the 1984 Supergirl movie, and the CW show. This version of Supergirl will draw on those influences."
Supergirl #1 launches May 14th.

Action Comics welcomes a new creative team: Mark Waid (Justice League Unlimited) and artist Skylar Patridge. The series will focus on Clark Kent's teenage years in Smallville, exploring his early experiences with his powers as Superboy.
"The book begins with 15-year-old Clark learning to be a superhero," Waid stated. "We'll explore the challenges of mastering powers at that age. Skylar and I are also modernizing Smallville—it retains its rustic charm, but farms don't look quite the same anymore."
Waid and Patridge's run starts with Action Comics #1087 in June.
Finally, Krypto gets his own five-issue miniseries as part of the DC All In initiative. Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton, written by Ryan North (Fantastic Four) and drawn by Mike Norton (Revival), will delve deeper into Krypto's origin story than ever before.
"Krypto's origin has always been somewhat superficial," North commented. "We'll show what a lost dog would experience landing alone on Earth. We're treating Krypto as the dog he is: he doesn't talk, and we don't use thought bubbles. Mike Norton's art perfectly conveys what needs to be 'said' in each scene."
Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton #1 releases June 18th.
ComicsPro also revealed Marvel's summer relaunch of Captain America, written by Zdarsky and drawn by Valerio Schiti. You can also find our preview of Godzilla's new interconnected comic book universe.
