Boss fights in *The First Berserker: Khazan* are a thrilling challenge, especially when you're not fully prepared. The Blade Phantom, a formidable foe, will test your skills with its relentless attacks and multiple phases. Here's a detailed guide on how to conquer the Blade Phantom on the Trials of the Frozen Mountain level in Stormpass.
Phase 1

As you face the Blade Phantom in a castle filled with a crimson liquid, you'll need to master its attack patterns. The boss typically unleashes a variety of melee combos, including:
- A six-hit combo with four punches and two kicks, the second being a delayed attack.
- A three-hit combo with two punches followed by a downward kick.
- A four-hit combo starting with a right hook, then two kicks, ending with a leaping kick smash.
- A three-hit combo with flashing punches, followed by a grab that you must dodge.
In addition to these melee attacks, the Blade Phantom can summon a giant hammer in *The First Berserker: Khazan*, causing red spikes to emerge. It may also use a spear for a quick throw and a teleporting smash, or a blade for a swift six-hit combo. The boss can also vanish and dash around before striking.
To progress, learn the timings of these attacks and use parrying or dodging to create openings for your own attacks. Deplete the Blade Phantom's stamina to execute a Brutal Attack, repeating this strategy until you reduce its health by about half, triggering the second phase.
Phase 2

In the second phase, the Blade Phantom begins with four claw attacks, followed by a spear throw from above. Evade the spear's impact zone and prepare for a leaping swipe. The boss then unleashes three greatsword slashes and a concluding hammer smash.
While retaining many of its previous moves, the Blade Phantom introduces new claw attacks, a spear thrust with follow-up, and swift dual-wielding attacks. It teleports more often now, and when wielding the greatsword, watch for multiple slashes culminating in a Burst Attack, signaled by a red P-like symbol. Use the Counterattack (L1/LB + Circle/B) to parry this move, restoring your stamina and opening the boss up for more damage.
Exploit the Blade Phantom's stamina depletion to launch Brutal Attacks, but time these carefully to maximize damage. Victory over the Blade Phantom rewards you with 8,640 Lacrima, Soul Eater gear items, a Shieldsman’s Ring, and Netherworld Mineral for crafting.
