Acquire Your Pet
Upon launching Diablo 4 Season 7, immediately visit the nearest town's Wardrobe. Claim your pet! While combat-ineffective, it efficiently gathers gold and materials, freeing you to focus on combat and loot.
Recruit Your Mercenaries
Vessel of Hatred owners should head to the Den and recruit Mercenaries. Solo players can utilize two, significantly easing leveling and combat. Cultivate Rapport for additional rewards.
Conquer the Seasonal Questline
Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the green leaf-marked seasonal questline. This introduces Season 7 mechanics, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and Witch powers. While relatively short, it features puzzles and primarily involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones – the optimal path to level 60. Repeatedly defeat Headhunt zone bosses, collect Favors, and upgrade Witch powers concurrently.
Unlock Class Power
A convenient change: Prioritized class quests are skipped if completed on a previous character (requires prior login with that character on the Eternal realm). For example, a Season 7 Rogue needs a prior Rogue character with completed quests to automatically unlock class power upon reaching the required level.
Dominate Headhunt Zones
While in Headhunt zones, actively complete Whispers. Four are always active; prioritize smaller, denser zones for faster mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these Whisper quests:
- Fugitive Shepherd: Escort animals.
- Fugitive: Defeat Elites, interact with roots to recover a head or destroy a husk.
Exchange 10 Grim Favors for a cache at the Tree of Whispers. Note: A Raven of the Tree spawns in each Headhunt zone, offering an alternative Favor exchange point.
Harness Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, use Restless Rot (obtained by killing Rot enemies) to purchase and upgrade Witchcraft powers. Prioritize damage upgrades for passive damage boosts. Certain powers require interaction with Forgotten Altars (found in dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 or higher; Draughts of Whispers increase encounter chances).
Explore Rootholds
Rootholds (accessed with Whispering Woods from Whispers and Silent Chests) offer a rogue-lite experience similar to Infernal Hordes. Activate negative modifiers for improved loot quality. Open Exposed Roots for loot; modifiers influence quantity and quality. Save Roothold keys for Torment 1 for optimal Ancestral loot.
Utilize Occult Gems
Craft Occult Gems (with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers) for jewelry; they outperform regular gems. Focus on these late-game; crafting is expensive, requiring significant Restless Rot and Heads (from Roothold bosses, Headhunt Fugitives; Draughts of Whispers increase Head drop chances).
Tackle Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
