The 28th D.I.C.E. Awards have arrived, celebrating the pinnacle of video game excellence in 2024. Among the 23 categories, Astro Bot emerged as the star of the night, clinching the coveted Game of the Year award, along with Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Family Game of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design. Its remarkable performance underscores its innovative gameplay and captivating design.
Helldivers 2 also shone brightly, securing four awards: Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design, Action Game of the Year, and Online Game of the Year. Meanwhile, both Balatro and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle impressed with three wins each, highlighting their significant contributions to the gaming landscape.

In addition to celebrating top games, the D.I.C.E. Awards honored two industry luminaries for their impactful contributions. The former Executive Vice President of Operations at Nintendo of America received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to the company and support for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Additionally, Insomniac Games' founder and president, Ted Price, was inducted into the Hall of Fame upon his retirement. His leadership at Insomniac Games for three decades and advocacy for creators' First Amendment rights were pivotal to his recognition.
