Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has been rated for the Nintendo Switch 2, even before any official announcement confirmed the fighting game's arrival on the new console. Although we're still awaiting official word that the game inspired by Akira Toriyama's beloved anime and manga series will indeed come to the Switch 2, a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, which was noticed by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, suggests otherwise.
"Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," the tweet stated before it was removed, confirming the game had secured a 12+ rating.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero elevates the iconic gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series to new heights, boasting an "incredible number" of playable characters, each equipped with signature abilities, transformations, and techniques.
In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, stating, "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."
Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 went live on April 24, maintaining a price point of $449.99. As expected, pre-orders were snapped up quickly. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered through the My Nintendo Store, noting that release date delivery was not guaranteed due to the overwhelming demand.
