Dragon Quest X Offline is heading to mobile in Japan! This MMORPG spin-off, previously available only on consoles and PC, launches tomorrow on iOS and Android. Japanese players can purchase the offline, single-player version at a discounted price.
Gematsu reports that this mobile release fulfills a long-standing ambition, initially planned by Ubitu for 2013. Unlike other Dragon Quest titles, Dragon Quest X features real-time combat and other MMORPG elements. The offline version, released in 2022, provides a standalone experience.
A Mobile-Only Japanese Affair?
Unfortunately, a global release for the mobile version remains unconfirmed. The original Dragon Quest X was exclusive to Japan, and current news offers little indication of international plans. This is disappointing for global fans, including this writer, who has fond memories of past Dragon Quest titles.
