Elden Ring Nightreign Overview Trailer
10-Minute Overview Trailer
Elden Ring Nightreign's release date is drawing near, and fans are eagerly anticipating this multiplayer Souls RPG. FromSoftware released an overview trailer on May 2, showcasing the game's lore, features, mechanics, and more.
The trailer describes "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN as a co-op survival action game where you navigate a vast and dangerous field with other players. You must become one of the Nightfarers, fighting through the endless night and taking on scores of vicious foes over the span of three days."
The video provides a detailed look at what players can expect from the game, explaining the structure of each playthrough. Players are dropped into the land of Limveld to hunt the Nightlords that rule the area. Their mission is to defeat these Nightlords, navigating through the landscape by defeating enemies, searching for treasures, and more.
The gameplay loop involves gathering resources during the day and facing bosses at night. Each passing day shrinks the map and introduces new enemies. By the end of the third day, players must confront a powerful Nightlord to conclude their expedition.
The trailer also notes that "the layout of Limveld will change each time you visit." This means that bases, enemy types, chest rewards, and other elements will be altered and randomized with each run. Explorations can be interrupted by sudden enemy ambushes or unpredictable events like meteor strikes or volcanic eruptions.
Last 2 Classes Teased
The overview trailer offered a glimpse of the last two classes in Nightreign, which are yet to be officially revealed. During the character select screen, a new character named Executor was spotted.
Executor appears to be a knight wielding a sword that can be imbued with power. A brief clip showed him parrying and countering an enemy. At the end of the Nightfarers' segment, another character was teased—a female Nightfarer with greyish hair wielding a harp.
Fans can look forward to character trailers for these Nightfarers in the coming weeks as Nightreign nears its release.
The Roundtable Hold
Nightreign features a base called the Roundtable Hold, where players can prepare for their battles in Limveld. This hidden area allows players to equip relics, purchase items, and customize their characters.
Relics are equippable items obtained during expeditions that enhance players' abilities. Different relic combinations offer varied gameplay, encouraging players to experiment and find what suits their playstyle. These relics can also be purchased at the base from a Jar Merchant using a currency called "Murk," earned as battle rewards.
Players can use the "fitting mirror" to change their characters' attire. These costumes are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay. The trailer showcased some of the available outfits, including familiar Souls costumes like Solaire of Astora, Faraam, the God of War, and Ringfinger Leonhard from Dark Souls 3.
Additionally, players can collect "fragments of lost memories" during expeditions, which expand on the lore of each Nightfarer. These memories may present new objectives for players to achieve during their runs, revealing each Nightfarer's origins and purposes.
PC Requirements
Nightreign's PC requirements are surprisingly manageable compared to its challenging enemies and bosses. FromSoftware revealed the game's minimum and recommended settings on April 28 via a Twitter (X) post, which are achievable for most gaming setups.
The minimum and recommended specs are closely aligned. The minimum requires an Intel Core i5 10600 or Ryzen 5 5500, while the recommended is an Intel Core i5 11500 or Ryzen 5600. Memory requirements are also similar, with 12 GB for minimum and 16 GB for recommended.
The graphics card requirements are equally reasonable, with the minimum being a GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 580, and the recommended a GTX 1070 or Radeon RX Vega 56. Fans have praised FromSoftware's optimization efforts, especially noting the game's modest 30 GB storage requirement.
With less than a month until its release, FromSoftware's recent reveals are building excitement for this upcoming multiplayer co-op survival game. The overview trailer has given fans plenty to look forward to as the launch approaches.
