Elden Ring Nightreign Nears Release Date
Ongoing Game Balancing Efforts
With Elden Ring Nightreign's release just days away, FromSoftware developers confirmed they're "continuously refining the game's balance." In a May 27 interview with GamesRadar+, Director Junya Ishizaki shared his mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness as launch approaches.
Despite these nerves, Ishizaki expressed confidence in the team's efforts: "We keep polishing the experience until the final moments. Our focus remains on perfecting gameplay feel and ensuring player satisfaction in every session."
While FromSoftware has extensive experience with Souls games and multiplayer components in Dark Souls and Armored Core, Nightreign represents their most ambitious cooperative project yet, making these final adjustments crucial for success.
Launch Trailer Introduces Revenant
The official May 27 launch trailer revealed cinematic glimpses of character classes and dramatic boss encounters. Fans finally saw the eighth Nightfarer - Revenant - in action, wielding her distinctive harp-like weapon with puppet-like hands.
Unlike other characters, Revenant hasn't received a dedicated gameplay deep-dive, leaving players eager for more details about her abilities before launch.
Night Hunt Livestream Event
Bandai Namco US announced a special May 28 livestream called Night Hunt, featuring eight three-player teams competing across three battle rounds. The event streams at 3:00 PM PT / 6:00 PM ET across Bandai Namco's official channels.
While participant details remain undisclosed, this showcase offers the first complete look at match gameplay. Elden Ring Nightreign launches May 30, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
