Netflix has unveiled the thrilling trailer for Electric State, a new sci-fi epic directed by the acclaimed duo Anthony and Joe Russo, known for their work on Avengers: Endgame. The trailer introduces viewers to an intense narrative led by Millie Bobby Brown, famous for her role in Stranger Things, who plays a determined young heroine, and Chris Pratt, renowned from Guardians of the Galaxy, portraying a mysterious wanderer.
Set in a bleak future marred by a devastating technological collapse, Electric State chronicles the harrowing journey of its protagonist as she traverses the American frontier in pursuit of her lost brother. Accompanying her is a charming yellow robot, injecting a bit of warmth into the otherwise somber story. Along the way, they cross paths with a cryptic drifter whose hidden truths might just unlock the secrets of their shattered world. Drawing inspiration from Simon Stålenhag's visionary graphic novels, this film weaves a tale full of emotion and mystery.
The stellar cast also includes Woody Harrelson (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Billy Bob Thornton (Goliath), and Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul). With a screenplay penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers behind Avengers: Infinity War, Electric State is set to enthrall audiences upon its release on March 14, 2025.
