NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to powerful options such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans.
Directly from Final Fantasy XV, Noctis's Engine Blade awaits discovery during your first playthrough. Below, we detail its location and key stats.
Where To Find the Engine Blade in NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade is located within the factory, but not accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to revisit the area as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a quicker route. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, follow the right path (2D camera perspective). You'll pass a fenced area, climb broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. After crossing, ascend to a cylinder area with spider-like enemies.
Enter the door to your left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends mid-way, leading to a platform extending towards the camera. This triggers another 2D platforming section above the presses; follow the left path. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.
Caution: Exploding enemies will drop from the ceiling as you approach.
Engine Blade Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon allows four upgrades, eventually reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding the Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, offering more predictable damage output.
