Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced the upcoming release of Absolum, a thrilling fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite mechanics. Set in the ravaged world of Talamh, the game's narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a devastating magical cataclysm. The populace lives in dread of magic, a fear that the tyrannical King-Sun Azra manipulates to oppress and enslave mages through his formidable Crimson Order. However, hope emerges as a valiant group of heroes—comprising the necromancer Galandra, the defiant gnome Karl, the mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr—rises to challenge his rule.
Players diving into Absolum will encounter fast-paced action, featuring upgradable abilities, potent combos, and an array of magical spells. The game accommodates both solo adventurers and those who prefer cooperative play, allowing players to merge their attacks and coordinate strikes for overwhelming effect.
Enhancing the immersive experience, Absolum's soundtrack is being composed by a trio of renowned talents: Gareth Coker, celebrated for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, known for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundscapes of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025, and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, promising to deliver a captivating gaming experience to a wide audience.
