Bethesda and id Software showcased a new demo of DOOM: The Dark Ages during the Xbox showcase, confirming earlier leaks. This medieval-themed hellish shooter launches May 15th.
DOOM: The Dark Ages transports players to the medieval era, resulting in a significantly different gameplay experience compared to DOOM: Eternal. Forget the constant jumping and parkour; this iteration focuses on grounded combat, making you feel like an unstoppable killing machine, a true tank. Expect slower, more deliberate battles.
The core arsenal shifts to a shield and mace, offering a more visceral and brutal approach to demon slaying. For the first time in the series, players will command a giant mech to battle smaller demons, adding a strategic layer to combat. The campaign also includes the thrilling opportunity to ride a dragon.
A flexible difficulty system allows players to customize the challenge, adjusting enemy damage and other parameters to their preferred level of intensity.
