Path of Exile 2 boasts a wealth of quests, some more subtle than others. A prime example? The five Golden Idols hidden throughout Act 3. These items are listed as Quest Items, but their function is surprisingly different.
Unlike typical Quest Items which advance a questline upon delivery, Golden Idols don't trigger any quest entries in your log. Instead, they're valuable commodities you can sell for a substantial amount of gold. Let's explore how to find them.
How to Find the Golden Idols in Path of Exile 2
After completing the initial sections of Act 3 and exploring the ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment, you'll be transported to the past via a portal. This takes you to Utzaal, the magnificent Vaal city in its prime (now known as The Drowned City). While the city's splendor is captivating, keep your eyes peeled for something else: Golden Idols.
These valuable items are scattered throughout Utzaal and the connected area of Aggorat. Three are located within Utzaal itself, and the remaining two are found in Aggorat.
- Utzaal Golden Idols:
Glorious Idol
Golden Idol
Grand Idol- Aggorat Golden Idols:
Exceptional Idol
Elegant Idol
You'll typically find these idols on the ground or on pedestals, often tucked away in side rooms. They don't drop from enemies; they're static items waiting to be discovered.
What to Do With Your Golden Idols in PoE 2
Once you've collected a Golden Idol, head back to the Ziggurat Encampment to sell them. Not every vendor will accept them, but Oswald, located in the northern part of the encampment, is your man.
He'll happily purchase your idols at the following prices:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
Finding all five idols nets you a tidy 6000 gold. Since they occupy inventory space and have no other purpose, consider selling them after each find to maximize your gold and minimize clutter.
