Alkimia Interactive, the creative force behind the eagerly awaited Gothic 1 Remake, has provided a select group of journalists with early access to a fresh demo version of the game. Originally showcased at Gamescom, this demo is now poised to become available to the public in the near future.
This demo acts as a teaser for the complete game, introducing a new protagonist named Niras, who takes the place of the traditional Nameless Hero. Niras, a fellow prisoner, arrives in the Miners' Valley and engages with its residents, laying the groundwork for the overarching story.
In 2024, Alkimia Interactive unveiled an exclusive prologue demo at Gamescom, highlighting Niras' entry into the Colony and his initial encounters with its challenging environment and inhabitants. This demo will soon be accessible to everyone, offering players around the globe a chance to dive into the revitalized world of Gothic. Both the demo and the final game have been reconstructed nearly from the ground up, promising extended gameplay, a more detailed focus on orcs, and enhanced immersive features. Fans can look forward to a more profound and captivating experience than the original offered.
The latest demo for Gothic 1 Remake is set to launch on Steam during the Steam Next Fest event. It will be available for free from the evening of February 24th until the evening of March 3rd, after which it will no longer be accessible. The full release of Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for later this year, and it will be available on PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
