The excitement for the new GTA 6 trailer is palpable, and if you missed it, we've broken down all the secrets and details for you. However, we'll need to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. In the meantime, let's reminisce about the Rockstar games that have kept us entertained over the years and rank them just for fun.
Rockstar has been a powerhouse in the gaming industry since 1998, churning out over 30 titles and giving us iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which of these gems truly stands out? Note that this list excludes games like LA Noire and Max Payne 2, focusing only on those developed by Rockstar, not just published. I've taken a shot at ranking them using an IGN Tier List, based purely on my personal enjoyment. Check out my tier list below:
Red Dead Redemption 2 clinches the top spot as my all-time favorite, making it an easy S-tier choice. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both trailblazers in the cinematic open-world genre. I've got a special place in my heart for Max Payne 3 and its mesmerizing bullet time mechanics, as well as GTA San Andreas, which I played far too young. At the bottom of the barrel in the D-tier, we find games like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!—titles that few would willingly revisit.
Do you disagree with my rankings? Perhaps you believe Vice City outshines GTA 4? Why not create your own tier list and see how it stacks up against the IGN community's preferences?
