Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind blockbuster titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up for the release of his latest project, MindsEye. The game recently showcased a fresh look during the PlayStation State of Play, generating buzz and anticipation among fans.
The newly released trailer for MindsEye offers a glimpse into this high-tech spy thriller, drawing noticeable parallels with Grand Theft Auto. The game features third-person gunplay, cinematic sequences, and dynamic drive-and-shoot action, all of which you can experience in the cinematic trailer below.
According to the official press release, MindsEye centers around protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is fitted with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has caused fragmented flashbacks of his military past. As Jacob embarks on a quest to uncover the truth about his history, he confronts an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.
MindsEye has been in development for several years since Benzies left Rockstar Games to establish his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy. In collaboration with Hitman developer IO Interactive, MindsEye is positioned as a AAA action-adventure game. Alongside the game, Benzies is set to launch the Everywhere platform, which has been likened to a "Big budget Roblox" following a visit to their studio in 2024.
While the new trailer did not mention Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises to be an exhilarating new action game from a master of the genre. The game is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
