Hearthstone enthusiasts, get ready for an electrifying experience as Battlegrounds Season 9 is set to launch on December 3rd. This season brings a cosmic twist, integrating flashy tech and a dramatically revamped minion lineup, making the Tavern feel entirely rejuvenated.
What’s in Store?
Bob's Technotavern is undergoing a significant upgrade in Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9. The season kicks off with a rating reset, bidding farewell to Trinkets and introducing the innovative Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens can be used at the hero selection screen to reroll one of your hero options, giving you a second chance if you're not thrilled with your initial picks.
Before we dive deeper into the season's features, let's outline the reveal and launch schedule. Today marks the reveal of Naga and Dragon minions, followed by Quilboar and Beast reveals on November 21st. Pirate and Duos-only reveals are slated for November 22nd, with Murloc and Demon reveals on November 25th. Elemental and Undead reveals will occur on November 26th. On December 2nd, preview event streams will be accompanied by the release of the 31.2 patch notes later that day.
What Else Is New?
Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9 introduces three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo taking center stage thanks to his Galaxy’s Lens and cosmic flares. Additionally, nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells will either join or leave the pools, ensuring a fresh gameplay experience.
A notable tweak is coming to the damage cap, but this change applies only to solo Battlegrounds games. Early-game damage will be capped at 5, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. Once you reach the top 4, the damage cap will be removed entirely.
The patch officially goes live on December 3rd, introducing Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs. Murlocs and Demons will join the minion pool on December 5th, followed by Undead and Elementals on December 9th.
