Melpot Studio has released the first trailer for its upcoming figure skating simulation game, ICE on the Edge, launching on PC via Steam in 2026. This innovative game blends vibrant anime-inspired visuals with incredibly realistic skating choreography, developed in collaboration with professional figure skaters.
In ICE on the Edge, you become a coach, mentoring skaters and guiding their careers. Your responsibilities include creating performance routines, selecting music, designing costumes, and choosing technical elements to maximize their potential. The ultimate aim? Lead your athletes to victory at the prestigious fictional competition, "On the Edge." The game's choreography boasts the expertise of renowned Japanese figure skater Akiko Suzuki, whose previous work includes the anime series Medalist.
The developers embarked on this project with limited figure skating knowledge, but their commitment to authenticity shines through. They meticulously researched every aspect of the sport, from the complexities of different jumps to the scoring system itself, ensuring a truly immersive and accurate gameplay experience.
Combining stunning anime art with realistic skating mechanics, ICE on the Edge promises to enthrall both gamers and figure skating fans.
