"Infinity Nikki Fans Threaten Uninstall Over Update 1.5 Changes"

Author : Madison Update:May 06,2025

The highly anticipated release of Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update on Steam has been overshadowed by a series of issues, sparking a wave of drama among its fanbase. Infold Games' stylish dress-up adventure transitioned from Epic Game Store exclusivity to Valve's digital platform, but instead of celebration, the community faced a barrage of technical problems, confusing design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. In response, the developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, yet the struggle for a better Infinity Nikki experience continues.

.reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; }PC players eager to dive into the Steam release were met with frustrating technical issues, including game crashes and general instability. While technical problems at launch are not uncommon, the influx of players quickly highlighted more than just performance concerns.

The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces, has raised eyebrows. This means players may need up to 220 pulls, which translates to significant time and potentially money. The sudden increase in outfit piece requirements, without prior notice, has caused unease among the community, fearing that future sets will demand even more.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, leaving players puzzled. Amid these technical issues and the introduction of more demanding monetization practices, the Chinese player base took to social media platform RedNote to voice their concerns. The issue quickly escalated into a global movement, with players worldwide calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging negative reviews, and uninstalling the game across all platforms.

Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players.““What I am reminding people of is a decent amount of Chinese IN stylists pledging to not spend/pull on the banners to send a message to the digital income trackers for the game,” Reddit user kiaxxl said in a call-to-action post they published earlier today. “For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players.”

The backlash has had a tangible impact, with Infinity Nikki now holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players leave negative reviews, warning potential newcomers to steer clear until their demands are met and issues resolved.

The boycott gained enough momentum that Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging many of the technical issues have been addressed and promising better communication about future adjustments.

“Thank you again for your support,” Infold’s message says. “We know we still have shortcomings, but it’s because of your companionship that Nikki can keep pushing the boundaries of imagination. Please give us another chance to let Nikki’s starlight continue shining for all of us, ensuring our sincerity never fades.”

Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience

Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho

The apology included plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season the same day, along with compensation of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this is a step forward, it falls short of the comprehensive changes many players hoped for.

While some view Infold's response as a victory, others remain wary, particularly about the continued 11-piece requirement for new outfits. Despite promises of improved communication, it seems some five-star outfits will still demand 11 pieces.

I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it cant be that i need 200 pulls to get a 5star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

The community's efforts have already led to some changes, and players are celebrating this turnaround. However, boycotters are urging the community to maintain pressure for further improvements.

“Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces,” Reddit user EdensAsmr said. “Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will not cut it.”
