Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made and the concept was strong, according to Insomniac founder and retiring president Ted Price, timing and market opportunities ultimately prevented its development. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this unrealized project as a personal favorite among unmade games. He expressed the team's passion for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting its unique alternate history setting and the rich potential for exploring the Chimera's origins and future.
The Resistance series, a trio of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the success of the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to projects like the Marvel's Spider-Man series and new installments in the Ratchet & Clank franchise.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as the studio's new Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, and Marvel's Wolverine is next on the horizon.
