1. Jurassic Park (1993)
The Jurassic Park saga begins with the groundbreaking 1993 film, which closely follows Michael Crichton's novel. The story introduces the thrilling concept of cloning dinosaurs using DNA extracted from prehistoric mosquitoes preserved in amber. John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), the visionary entrepreneur behind this project, invites paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill), paleobotanist Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) to assess the safety of his new theme park on Isla Nublar. Accompanied by Hammond's grandchildren, Lex and Tim Murphy, they embark on a tour that turns into a fight for survival when a tropical storm and sabotage lead to a power outage, freeing the dinosaurs. 2. The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
Set and released four years after the original, The Lost World reintroduces us to Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), joined by paleontologist Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore). The story unfolds on Isla Sorna, another island where Hammond cloned dinosaurs. Abandoned and left to their own devices, the dinosaurs have thrived. A corporate power struggle over InGen pits Hammond's nephew, Peter Ludlow (Arliss Howard), who wants to exploit the dinosaurs commercially, against Hammond, Malcolm, and Harding, who aim to establish a nature preserve. Amidst territorial dinosaurs, the two factions clash, leading to intense chases and dramatic confrontations. The film culminates in a T-Rex escaping to wreak havoc in San Diego, with Malcolm and Harding attempting a non-lethal capture.
