KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global Officially Shuts Down After 3.5-Year Run
Another gacha game bites the dust! KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Global, developed by Sumzap and published by Nexon (later Sesisoft), officially ended its service on January 30th. While a 3.5-year lifespan (compared to the Japanese version's 5 years) is respectable for an anime-based gacha, revenue decline ultimately led to its closure.
The developers, who have shifted focus to the Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade gacha game, maintained active support until the very end. This included new voiced story updates and a final song release just three weeks prior to shutdown. A farewell livestream in December, featuring Kazuma's voice actor, further showcased their commitment.
The Japanese version offered players a generous parting gift: an archived main story on their YouTube channel, allowing fans to revisit the antics of Kazuma and his companions. An offline version also provides continued access to the story, voice lines, and character collection.
Sadly, the Global version lacks both an offline mode and a dedicated YouTube archive. However, fans can still access the Japanese YouTube channel to enjoy the complete story.
