Nintendo's Latest Announcement: A LEGO Game Boy!
Get ready for a blast from the past! Nintendo has just revealed its latest collaboration with LEGO: a meticulously detailed LEGO Game Boy set. Launching October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES release, marking the second Nintendo console to receive the LEGO treatment.
While exciting news for both LEGO and Nintendo enthusiasts, the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked a flurry of speculation regarding the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2. Many users humorously interpreted the LEGO Game Boy as a cryptic reveal of the next console, with comments such as, "Thanks for finally revealing the new console," and "At this rate, a LEGO Switch 2 will be out before the actual system!"

Despite the playful online chatter, Nintendo remains tight-lipped about the Switch 2. However, President Furukawa's May 7, 2024 statement promising an announcement regarding the Switch successor within the current fiscal year (ending March) offers a glimmer of hope for eager fans.
Pricing details for the LEGO Game Boy are yet to be revealed, but Nintendo promises further information in the coming weeks and months.
Past Nintendo & LEGO Collaborations
Beyond the NES and Game Boy, Nintendo and LEGO have previously teamed up to bring iconic characters from beloved franchises to life in brick form. This includes popular figures from Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda (TLZ).

Last May 2024, a stunning 2,500-piece LEGO set featuring the Great Deku Tree from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild was released, complete with Princess Zelda and the Master Sword figurines. This impressive set retails for $299.99 USD.

Two months later, a unique Super Mario World set showcasing Mario riding Yoshi in pixelated form (with a crank to animate Yoshi's leg) hit shelves at $129.99 USD.
