Wordsmiths have a fresh challenge with Letterlike, a new roguelike word game that blends the strategic depth of Balatro with the classic wordplay of Scrabble. Imagine combining vocabulary skills with the unpredictable thrill of roguelike randomness—a unique twist in the gaming world!
How to Play Letterlike
Letterlike operates as a roguelike, meaning each game session offers a new, procedurally generated mix of letters and challenges, leading to endless possibilities and triumphs. Starting with a set of letters, your mission is to craft meaningful words, score points, and progress through levels. Each level consists of three rounds.
To advance, you'll need to accumulate enough points by forming high-scoring words, similar to Scrabble. You have five attempts (or lives) per round, so strategize wisely. If you're stuck with less-than-ideal letters, don't despair. You can discard some, though remember, discards are limited, so choose strategically.
The game also features a rearrange mode, allowing you to drag, drop, and shuffle letters to your advantage. In the final round of each level, a special ability activates, turning some letters useless, awarding zero points. Utilize your accumulated points and rewards to purchase items that enhance your gameplay. Some buffs are automatically applied, while others unlock at specific levels. Collect gems to secure powerful upgrades, easing your future runs.
Will You Try It?
Letterlike boasts a simple, minimalist yet engaging design. A unique feature allows you to replay specific runs with friends using shared seeds. For example, if you encounter a particularly cursed letter combination, you can share it and let your friends experience the challenge too!
The game is ad-free and available for a one-time purchase. You can enjoy it offline, and a free demo version is available for those curious to try it out. If interested, check out Letterlike on the Google Play Store and give the demo a spin.
