Exciting news for Disney fans! The Lion King ride, set to debut at Disneyland Paris, has unveiled new images, detailed insights, and a construction start date slated for Fall 2025. As reported by Disney Parks Blog, this groundbreaking attraction will be a centerpiece of the revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. This new water ride will immerse guests in the iconic scenes from the beloved 1994 film, complemented by a majestic 120-foot-high Pride Rock and an array of dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greet experiences.
Disney has released a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment. This scene is just one highlight of the ride, which also features an exhilarating 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
While an exact opening date remains under wraps, the ride is expected to launch following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. The Lion King ride is a key component of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size.
In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another first-of-its-kind attraction themed after Up will offer guests a "spinning carousel" experience with breathtaking views of the park's scenery.
The new park entrance, World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will emulate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
