Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the first installment of their new narrative adventure. Players can now experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching freely for all purchasers on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close group of friends irrevocably fractured during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specters of that summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Inspired by It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game expertly blends nostalgic charm with the suspense of a psychological thriller. The developers have structured the game into two parts – "Bloom" and "Rage." Currently, only "Bloom," the first half of this captivating narrative, is available (as of February 18th).
"The Tape," encompassing the second half, arrives on April 15th. Initially planned for a March release, the launch was delayed to refine the overall experience.
The review embargo has been lifted, with OpenCritic reporting an average score of 74/100, indicating a promising start for this gripping mystery.
