Marvel Television has reportedly put the brakes on development for three upcoming series: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc., according to sources speaking to Deadline.
Although these projects were never officially greenlit, they may still move forward in the future. The current pause reflects a broader strategic shift within Marvel Studios as it refocuses its television efforts.
This change comes at a pivotal time, with Marvel preparing to debut Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. During a recent interview, Brad Winderbaum, Head of Streaming and TV at Marvel Studios, shared that the studio is actively considering a reunion of the street-level heroes — Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist — collectively known as The Defenders. This potential storyline could bring together key characters from the earlier days of Marvel’s small-screen ventures.

Marvel Studios continues to develop more television content than it ultimately produces, maintaining a selective approach. As Winderbaum explained in a previous conversation with Screen Rant, “We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next.”
The update regarding Nova stands out, especially since just two months ago, it was reported that Ed Bernero — known for his work on Criminal Minds — had joined the project as writer and showrunner. At that time, Nova was confirmed to be heading to Disney+ as a live-action series. For deeper insight, check out IGN’s full coverage on what we know about Nova so far.
Meanwhile, Strange Academy was envisioned as a magical coming-of-age story set in a mystical school founded by Doctor Strange, with Wong serving as headmaster. Details about Terror, Inc. remain scarce.
As for confirmed releases, here's what’s ahead:
- Daredevil: Born Again – Premieres March 4 on Disney+
- Ironheart – Launches June 24 on Disney+
- Wonder Man – Expected to release in December
On the film side, Marvel will continue its 2025 slate with:
